AOC Breeze 7-inch and 9.7-inch tablets running Android 4.1 launched for Rs. 7990 and Rs. 12990
AOC, popular for it’s monitors and Televisions has entered into the tablet market with the launch of two new Android tablets under the Breeze category. These come in 7-inch and 9.7-inch displays, powered by a 1.5 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean). The display resolutions of these tablets are not available yet. The 9.7-inch Breeze tablet has a micro-HDMI port that would let you connect it to external devices such as Monitors, TVs, and Projectors.
These have 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card. These have both rear and front-facing cameras. The 7-inch and the 9.7-inch tablets are 8.8 mm and 8mm thick, and weighs 330 grams and 670 grams, respectively. These tablets have a micro USB slot that lets you connect external storage devices, USB 2.0 Host Port to connect peripheries such as a printer, mouse, and keyboard or USB memory stick, WiFi, and 3G support via external dongle. No word on the battery capacities in these tablets yet.
The 7-inch and the 9.7-inch tablets AOC Breeze tablets are priced at Rs. 7,990 and Rs. 12,990 respectively. These tablets are expected to go on sale across India by the end of April.
Panasonic introduces Windows 8, Android based Toughpad tablets in India
Panasonic today launched two new tablets amidst a range of products as part of their Toughpad range. The Windows 8 and Android running tablets have been built according to the MIL-STD-810G specification. The rugged shock proof, water proof and dust proof tablets are aimed at use in industries with harsh working environments and can survive falls from up to 4 feet.
The Windows 8 running Toughpad FZ-G1 tablet has a 10.1 Full HD display with an active digitizer. It is powered by a 3rd Generation Core i5 processor clocked at 1.9 Ghz. The tablet can be configured with between 128 and 256GB of SSD storage and with 4-8GB of RAM. The Windows 8 running tablet is priced at Rs. 1,79,000 and is targeted at enterprise customers.
The 7″ Toughpad JT B1 Android tablet on the other hand has a 4 point multi touch display. The screen resolution is 1024 x600. Connectivity options include GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G capabilities. The tablet comes with a stylus for data entry and signature capturing. The rear of the tablet has a 13 megapixel auto focus camera with an LED flash. The 5,720 mAh user replaceable battery is rated for 8 hours of battery life. The Android tablet is priced at Rs. 69,000. Like the Windows tablet, the Android tablet too is aimed at enterprise customers.
Chrome Beta v27 for Android brings fullscreen support for phones, Tab history on tablets and more
Google has updated the Chrome Beta browser app to version 27.0.1453.49 that brings new features including full screen support for phones, simpler browsing that shows search terms in the omnibox, instead of the long search URL and the in-page Google search box. Chrome Beta version 26 brought data compression experimental feature, now you can can go to Bandwidth Management in Settings and enable Reduce Data Usage to enable this feature instead of enabling it from chrome://flags/ This version also bring Tab history on tablets.In the latest update, Chrome for iPhone and iPad got Google Cloud Print and Apple AirPrint support and the iPhone app got full screen mode.
